Howard Schwartz is a sculptor working in bronze, stone, and wood. His work contrasts organic form and curves against geometric lines and shapes to break up space and accentuate the form.
When Howard approaches the raw material he likes to see into it and work with the inherent shapes, veining, and or grain the stone or wood has to offer. He feels he is using what is already being shown to him and emphasizes it to strengthen the overall composition to meet his vision It is clear that the human body has strong influence in his work and his background in Industrial Design clearly defines his sense of space.
